I was pondering the other day, over a cup o’ noodle soup, that Twitter gatherings should have a more positive effect in our community. I thought that it would be super-dupery swell to experience a heart-warming effect while getting a “buzz” on. Don’t you think?

Then, holy cow, it dawned on me…BOWLING! So now you’re invited…

No need to be an expert, no need to have knowledge of the game, but you and your colleagues are invited to a Holiday Bowling Buzzcation to finally prove to other tweeps who reigns supreme!

Here are the rules:

1. You need a group of 5 people in your team; your team’s gotta have a name; and if you so wish, your team may have some kind of kick-ass uniform (but not required). Here’s a suggestion, get 4 people from your company or cult (Twitter peeps preferred but not necessary) to join. Make sure you have your game faces on because you’re challenging another team who thinks they’re special, too.

So think…HMA PR vs. ZION squared; 3TV vs. FOX10; those on the good side vs. those on the bad side; City of Phoenix vs. the rest of you cities. Whatever, but you gotta show your pride!

2. The bumpers will not be up. Even after so many frothy beverages, you’re on your own.

3. All teams will play 2 games.

4.  Yes, you can talk sh*t about the opposing team, but make sure there are no young kids around.

5. And yes, you have to tweet while playing, and feel free to post pictures.

And now the very important deets:

1. It’s going to cost $8 + tax per person, and that includes your $5 cover charge, shoe rental, and two games. Remember, PER PERSON.
2. Yes, there is a bar, and guess what, they are giving us $1 all domestics, $1 slice pizza, and other dollar things that I can’t even remember. Just open your own bar tab for that one.
3. Lastly, AND THIS IS THE “FEEL-GOOD” part, we would like to help out Crisis Nursery of Phoenix this holiday season by donating monetarily or in-kind. So we are encouraging teams/individuals to collect some moolah or necessary goods for those kids and families in need this holiday season. Many of you know that @iaagustin (a.k.a. Irene) works for Crisis Nursery, and according to her, they are in need of toddler-sized diapers (3, 4, 5), formula, baby food, toys for ages 0-10. There is no minimum, just give from your heart is all.

So consider joining and start forming your team. Let’s make this a fun bowling buzzcation event and a meaningful one. Make sure you grab your ticket if you plan to attend. We will assume that you know which team you belong to; if not, we’ll hook you up. No worries!
